  • Chiropractic patient records are retained for at least ten (10) years from the date of the patient’s last visit, as required by Ga. Comp. R. & Regs. r. 100-7-.07.
  • Certain health-record items may also be subject to separate retention requirements under O.C.G.A. § 31-33-2, including requirements that specified records be retained for at least ten years from the date they were created.
  • HIPAA-required documentation, including documentation required under the HIPAA Privacy Rule, is retained for a minimum of six (6) years from the date of creation or the date it was last in effect, whichever is later.
  • Billing, insurance, tax, payment, administrative, and other business records are retained in accordance with applicable legal, contractual, insurance, payer, and recordkeeping requirements.
  • Other website, analytics, communications, and operational records may be retained for periods appropriate to their purpose and applicable legal obligations.

When an applicable retention period ends and information is no longer required, records may be securely destroyed, deleted, or de-identified in accordance with applicable law and our information-management procedures.
